When Friends Let You Down
 
John 16:32 (NIV) “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.”
 
It stings like heck when your good time friends aren’t there for you in your bad times. It’s piercing to the soul when friends betray you, and it’s almost unbearable when your ride-or-die friends go ghost on you. Who do you have left to be your never-let-you-down compadre…no matter what? You always have Jesus with you, just as Jesus knew God was always with Him from the very start and throughout the course of events that lead up to Judas’s betrayal and Jesus’s arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus had no one to stand up for Him – just when He could most use the companionship of a friend. When you made the decision to change your life and follow Jesus, did you lose some friendships along the way? I’m sure you did. I’m also sure that you’re glad to have Jesus as your constant companion. When you abide in Him, He abides in you. He will never let you down.
