Beware of the Wolf!

2 John 1:10-11 (NIV) If anyone comes to your meeting and does not teach the truth about Christ, don’t invite that person into your home or give any kind of encouragement. Anyone who encourages such people becomes a partner in their evil work.

This is the time to exercise your discerning spirit. If you don’t think you have a discerning spirit, ask God to help you grow in this area of your life. Wolves in sheep clothing are bolder than ever nowadays. When you’re approached with a false perspective of God’s Word coated in common sense theory – the Holy Spirit within you will quicken you to the deception. Your response is to use the Word of God to reveal the lie, and then bid the wolf adieu. You don’t have to be disrespectful…the wolf has already done that by crediting God with false teachings. You must be courageous and affirm God’s Word for its truth. Spiritual discernment is your protective weapon against the attacks of the enemy, and it is also your tool for discerning if someone simply doesn’t have what the scripture say and mean quite right. The Holy Spirit within you will help you to know the difference. Most importantly, it will equip you with the truth of God in times that you must beware of the wolf!
