Sword of the Spirit
Mark 5:7-8 (NLT) With a shriek, he [the man] screamed, “Why are you interfering with me Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In the name of God, I beg you, don’t torture me!” For Jesus had already said to the spirit, “Come out of the man, you evil spirit.”
Take note in today’s scripture of how the evil spirit within the man was horrified of the Presence of Jesus. That’s because it knew that the instant Jesus were to give a command, it would be done! What Power! When God speaks, action takes place immediately! The Word of God is fatal to the devil and his legion of constituents! We are blessed to have God’s Holy Word to help us fight the good fight in this spiritual warfare we are in. But we cannot benefit from the power in God’s Word if we don’t store it in our spirit. When we put on the whole armor of God, let’s make sure we have a firm and solid grip on the ‘Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God’ (Ephesians 6:17).
