How Big Is Your Rock?
Matthew 16:18 (NLT) “…Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.”

Do you really believe in Jesus? Your actions substantiate the level of priority and realness Jesus has in your life. Your actions also demonstrate how big your ‘rock’ is, that is – if you have any rock at all. What exactly is this ‘rock’? The ‘rock’ refers to that confident assurance that Simon Peter demonstrated when he answered Jesus’ question by telling Him that He was the Messiah. Simon Peter had a certain, unshakeable, immovable belief in God so much so until God revealed to him that Jesus was indeed the living Messiah. Simon Peter had ‘faith’. Faith is the Rock. It is the foundation upon which Jesus has built His church – not sand, clay, concrete, or treated wood. To build up the people of God – the foundation of the church requires rock solid ‘faith’. So, just how big is your ‘rock’? My prayer for us is that we live a life that is grounded in a rock solid foundation of the faith we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
