Christ In Charge (International Women’s Month)
“If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.”
Shirley Chisholm (1924-2005) 1st African American woman elected to the U.S. Congress; 1st African American candidate for a majority nomination for President of the United States; 1st woman to run for the Democratic party nomination

Confidently, Carmen arrived to work early enough to review the presentation she would make at the corporate board meeting. Ten minutes before showtime, she headed down the hallway to the boardroom with a folding chair tucked underneath her arm. A co-worker noticed the chair as Carmen passed by and took the liberty to remind her that she was only expected to give her presentation and then promptly leave the meeting. But Carmen paused with grace and said, “Not today, darling. My CIC has assured me that before I even finish presenting, the board CEO of this company will quietly ask someone to give up their seat at the table for me.’ The co-worker chuckled and asked, “Who is this ‘CIC’, and what is the folding chair for?” Carmen turned around with swag and said, “Jesus Christ oversees my life. HE IS my CIC! As for the folding chair, where are your manners? The person who has to move from the table will still need a seat in the room!” My dear sisters (and brothers), keep your talents sharpened so when the Holy Spirit lets you know your appointed time has come to shine for Him, you’ll be confidently ready! Psalm 23:5 (NLT) You prepare a table for me…
