A Harvest of Leaders
“Leadership is there in the people. You don’t have to worry about where your leaders are… If you go out and work with your people, then the leadership will emerge.” Robert “Bob” Moses (1935-2021) American educator; Civil Rights leader
People who have instinctive abilities for leadership are all around us. We pass by them every day not realizing the treasure of ingenuity they have to offer. There are people who have not awakened to the leaders they are. There are also people who know they are born to be leaders, but they keep it to themselves. There are trainings that are offered to help us development our leadership skills, and that’s good for us. But a greater benefit to leadership training is when we work and communicate with our people – listening to their experiences and viewing ideas and suggestions from their perspective. In them we can sense heart, courage, innovation and commitment. They see beyond what is evident, and they believe that what they see on the screen of their faith is possible. A harvest of leaders is waiting to come on the scene – children and adults. We don’t have to go look for them; we just need to make room for what they envision and invite them on board.
John 4:35b (NLT) “…, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest.”
