Sifting Wisdom

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Missed opportunities and aspirations that don’t see the light of day happen to all of us at some point in our lives, leaving us with the feeling of regret. But all is never really lost. As each day passes, there is much wisdom to be that can be sifted out of the ashes of our disappointment. When we consider the pros and cons of what life teaches us, we discover how much there is for us to learn about what we can improve on in order to be ready for that next opportunity or that next aspiration that will summon us. As long as we seek out what’s good even in the worst of cases, we will find reasons to have never-ending hope. Ephesians 1:18 (NLT) I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
