Necessary Obstacles

James 1:2-3 (NLT) Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.

An obstacle can be your saving grace to keep you from accomplishing your activity – that is – if you’re up to no good. But if you’re on the right path and an obstacle presents itself, don’t shut down and don’t claim defeat. Obstacles (by way of personalities, needs, or circumstances) can only do what you allow them to do. Never let one wall you off from what you are seeking to do in the name of goodness. Just give yourself some time to sense the area within yourself that feels threatened by what is attempting to hinder you. Explore the thoughts that constitute the way you feel. Look to the scriptures to see what the Lord promises you. Make the decision to release the obstructive thoughts from within yourself so the Lord may have access to grow you through, up, over, and around the outer obstacles that may come your way. With God you can find a purpose in everything - especially obstacles.
