In the Good and the Bad
Isaiah 41:13 (NLT) “…For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, “Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you…”

Good things can happen to us and make us feel just as anxious and uncomfortable as if it were a bad thing happening to us. We know our anxiety over bad things is because we don’t want to have to deal with them. More than likely it’s that we don’t know how to handle certain good things – particularly if they are unexpected or more than we ever imagined for ourselves – that unnerves us. In either case – in the good and the bad – we can lean on the divine guidance and security of the Lord.  He is our Ever-Present Help. Instead of being anxious about anything, we need to give God thanks, ask Him to calm our nerves, and remember that we best handle our ups and our downs when we simply trust our Helper.
