God’s Word Is More Than Enough
Matthew 2:24 (NLT) When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.
We’re still looking at Joseph. He had a major interruption in his plans, and God let him know what he needed to do. Joseph obediently followed through. That doesn’t mean he ceased from having thoughts about what would happen in the days ahead before the time came for Mary to give birth to baby Jesus. But his response to the angel’s command made it evident that God’s Word was enough to give him the assurance that God would take care of him and his family. You and I need to let God’s Word be enough for us during our life’s interruptions. We also need to follow through with what God commands us to do and leave all of our hesitations, reservations, and worries behind us. John 1:1 tells us that ‘in the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.’ The same Word that took care of Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus is the very same Word that is taking care of all that concerns you, me, our families, and the matters of this world to this very day. All in all and forever – God’s Word is more than enough. Amen.
