Snow

Psalm 51:7 (NLT) Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Snow – that beautiful accumulation of ice crystals that blanket the earth with its alabaster beauty is a traditional aspect that’s been added to the Christmas story for many years. Scripture does not indicate that snow was present at the scene of Jesus’ birth. But there most definitely was the baby Jesus – the gift of love, hope, and salvation – sent from God to save us from our sins. The psalmist knew that he could be cleaned of all his sins if he allowed Jesus into his heart. In essence, on the inside he would be whiter than snow! The beauty of this is that the Light of Christ shines brightly through hearts that have been purified of their sins much as sunlight reflects brightly off of the ice crystals in the snow. Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow within the hearts of all who give their life to Jesus! May the Glory of God’s love shine through you so that people will be drawn to His Light!
