Decisions Without Regrets

James 1:5 (NLT) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone.

What comes after the decisions you make that are based on facts, feelings, or someone else’s opinion is a natural part of the process called cause and effect. The reason why you might have some regrets is also a matter of cause and effect – but it may be more so spiritual than natural. If you don’t seek the wise counsel of the Lord before you do what you do, then you put yourself at risk of being afflicted with afterthoughts and regret. But there is always hope. Even after the fact, you can still seek wise discernment from the Lord, and He will give you the answer you need to get you through to the other side of your troubles. But hear me – He will give you the answer you ‘need’ – which is the answer you want, and you can only receive it if your faith is only in Him to provide it. Going forward, seek God’s input first so you can be a decision maker who suffers no regrets.
