Christian Appearance
1 Samuel 16:7 (NLT) But the Lord said to SAMUEL, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearances, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Go ahead and prepare yourself some Epsom salt and warm water. If you are a ‘truthful’ saint, your toes might hurt just a tad bit today. But that’s a good thing…we want the truth to set us free, right? We’re living in the end times and witnessing behavior that is blasphemy to God’s sacredness. But these things are also a witness to us. You see, we look at people who live in ways that don’t comply to the authority of God, and we view them and their sin as one whole package. Criticism, condemnation, and rejection well up in our heart and mind towards them the moment we see them or think about them. But it’s right then that those we resent bless us to realize and admit how much sin we still have in our own conflicted hearts. If this weren’t so, we would see each person separate from their sin, and our heart and mind would fill with hope, compassion and faith to befriend and help them – that same courtesy someone offered us along our sinful way. So in truth, does your Christian appearance need some Eternal renovations? That’s what it’s going take if we want to serve with a heart like Jesus and reap a harvest for the Kingdom. Now…let’s say you and I go soak our toes and think on these things.
