Seeing the Hand of God
John 14:21 (NLT) “Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.”
It had been over three years since Sally has seen her adult son, but she never stopped praying… Wrapped up in his personal conflicts - he one day walked away from his aging mother and had become like a ghost. She longed to see him in a way that only God and mother’s alike could relate to. Early one recent morning, Sally got herself ready to go to the grocery store. She had a red onion on her mind, and she just had to go buy it! While on her way, she pulled up to a stoplight…right beside her son’s truck! She saw him through the tinted windows. With an overjoyed heart, she blew kisses at him! He waved and bowed his head at her before driving away. Sally went on to the store and returned home. Before doing anything else, she called her dearest friend to share the news that she had seen her son. But Sally didn’t carry on about seeing her son like you might think she would have. No, Sally carried on about the fact that she saw the Hand of God grant her an answer to her prayer to see for herself that her son was alive and well. “God is real! He is so real to Me!” is all she could say through her tearful expressions of gratefulness. Just a few days after that, Sally’s doorbell rang. She opened the door to hear, “Hi Mom.” How long have you been praying to see the Hand of God move in your circumstances? I encourage you to do what Sally has done. It had been over three long years…, but Sally never stopped praying, and she saw the Hand of God.
