The Least and the Blessed of These
Matthew 25:40 (NIV) “And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to the one of the
least of these, my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”

When helping people who don’t have much in resources to call their own, they are considered to be the ‘least of these’. But do you know that all of us – those of us who have resources and those who don’t have resources – we all are the ‘least of these’? Sure, we are! The reason for this is that everybody needs ‘something’ that we lack or we need in order to live a spiritually healthy life. It takes more than food, clothing, shelter, and other goods to help us live our best life. Whether rich or poor, we stay in continual need of spiritual nurturing. Our mind and our soul needs to be fed and engaged with the teachings of the Word of God. All of us need God, every second of every minute of every hour – everyday. As long as we need Him – and that is forever – we can include ourselves as one of the least of these…and as one of the blessed of these.
