Expanding Horizons
Celebrating the Faithfulness of God (1991 - Present) Rev. Dr. Daniel B. Simmons
Joshua 1:7a;9 (NLT) Be strong and very courageous. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

A thriving, vibrant church will always have seeds of ministry services to plant and grow for future Kingdom works in the earth. Promising seeds attract all forms of weeds that show up to choke out our progress and create setbacks. In the Mighty Hand of God – it’s the weeds that get choked - and the setbacks are made into setups for our greater outcome! Over the past 156 years of Mount Zion’s place in God’s history, God has shown us that no amount of disasters, disorder, or dislocation can stop an obedient church from moving into its expanding horizons. No matter how things may appear in the most difficult times of the church – the most important thing for us to remember is that God will not allow anything to get in the way of ministry service; therefore, the church will always continue to grow, nurture, teach, prepare, and equip its people for Kingdom service. In the last 30 years of God expanding Mount Zion’s horizons, -we’ve provided and are providing greater Kingdom service to the world during some of the worst of times – and more and more people who are seeking a relationship with our Savior continue to come into the fold of God’s church. Strong and courageous service to proclaim the Good News of Jesus and set captive souls free in Him…this is the legacy that future generations in Mount Zion will carry out until the day the Lord returns for all who are His own!    We celebrate the faithfulness of God to His church! Halleluiah!
