Yo-Yo Faith
2 Corinthians 1:17 (NIV) Was I fickle when I intended to do this? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that on the same breath I say both “Yes, yes” and No, no”?
Both new believers and seasoned believers must keep a check on their belief meter. It’s understandable for new believers to have high moments when their resolve to trust God is up, and times when they have low moments of uncertainty. Can they still trust God? Yes. While seasoned believers may more readily rely on their faith in God, they, too have tests that challenge them to the brink of their belief. Whether our faith is great or small, we never have a reason to have yo-yo faith about our God. When uncertainty begins to pull on us, our faith in our Heavenly Father will pull us back up to where all of our help comes from. Remember that it is God Who can do all things – except fail and lie. The one thing He expects us to do is to believe! Can we at least do that?
