Godly Virtue
James 5:12 (NIV) But most of all, my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned.

Be mindful to function in a mode of Godly virtue throughout your day. It is the frame of reference from which you get discernment (understanding) of where God is working and how He desires you to be involved in His work. Who knows? God might call you to work with someone whom you have an unpleasant history with. So what? God won’t require use of your ‘old baggage’ to do a ‘new thing’! If you and the person you’re going to help are holding on to baggage, then neither of you have grown, have you? Conditioning your mind and heart to serve in Godly virtue positions you to have the spiritual awareness of knowing that God is always doing something greater that what you could ever do on your own. May the greatness of God’s works be demonstrated through the growing changes in you.
