Flexibility
Psalm 40:7-8 (NLT) Then I said, “Look, I have come. As it is written about me in the Scriptures: I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart.”

Let’s go ahead and speak our truth. Sometimes we struggle with finding joy in doing the will of God, and the struggle isn’t always about being obedient. It’s more about being flexible. Our heart is on board with doing what God tells us to do, and our head has determined the way we will get it done. But God already has His plans arranged, and there will be no deviation from it. Our fixation on doing things our way inevitably does lead to disobedience and trouble for us. Have you ever asked God for something specific, but when He took too long with the delivery you moved on and acquired it your way? If you’d only been flexible enough to do it God’s way, you could have prevented yourself from having a lot of regrets. Give your attitude a workout. Adjust, bend, stretch, and yield to God’s will so that joy will come with what He instructs you to do.
