Preventing Self-Destruction (National Suicide Prevention Month)
Psalm 139:15-16 (NLT) You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.

The month of September is designated as National Suicide Prevention Month. It is my prayer that God will give each of us a supernatural dose of awareness, sensitivity, courage, empathy, and love for family, friends and strangers - children and adults – who are in crisis about the value and purpose of their lives. May we act in the boldness of Christ as lifelines for people who are at risk of ending their own lives. May God charge His Heavenly angels to shield them from harming themselves long enough for us to reach and embrace them. May God anoint His hurting people and anoint His servants so that they can make a connection in that place of isolation and pull through – together – into His divine will of life! Let it be so, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.                                                                                                               To receive help or learn more about suicide prevention, contact NAMI – National Alliance on Mental Illness @ NAMI Albany (229)329-1444 or the NAMI Georgia Suicide Resource Center (state helpline) @ (770)234-0855.
