Tear Drops
John 11:35 (NIV) Jesus wept.
Our tears reflect our emotions. They are the response to what our heart is feeling due to inner and outer concerns. Tear drops stem from a response to or a need for care. When Jesus wept, the people thought it was because Lazarus had died. They did not understand that our Savior’s teardrops were because they yet to have demonstrated belief in God the Father. It’s understandable that Jesus’ tears revealed His great sorrow for the peoples’ lack of faith. Jesus cares deeply that we will believe in God and walk in the light of His truth and His ways. Does your faith life give Jesus a reason to shed tears of sorrow or tears of joy? It is my prayer that we will concern ourselves with doing the things that give Jesus joy and not that which causes Him to shed tear drops of disappointment in us. Amen.
