What’s Good for Us
John 15:28(ESV) Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit.
I’ve always best understood and appreciated today’s scripture when I study it from the perspective of a gardener and a farmer. The regimental care these seed nurturers provide for the plants and produce they grow has everything to do with increasing natural life. Whatever risks robbing another plant from flourishing gets removed, and whatever burgeons with life gets reduced so that it can come back with even more life! Transferring this concept to our spiritual development, God the Gardener of our souls disciplines us to remove the sin in our lives, and he humbles us so we don’t choke out the Light of His Truth that helps us to attract other souls to His garden. That’s Bible, y’all!!! Lemme tell you this – all those troubling times aren’t troubling times. Some of it is pulling and pruning! Get used to it, and thank God for it. The Gardner knows what’s good for us and for our spiritual life!
