The Harbor You’re In
Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV) Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Yesterday some of you freely let go of your spiritual weights. But others of you were hesitant. For you, yesterday’s release was only temporary. Here you are today – still holding within your heart anger and resentment that have long expired their stay. If you’re willing to face the truth and admit that I’m speaking of you, I’d like to suggest that you check the harbor you’re in. Looks like you may have taken your spirit on a boat ride and ended up docking in a place that is filled and compressed with ugly, poisonous emotions that are rotting out the inner depth of your soul. If this is where you are, you’re already sinking in self-inflicted malice that is eating away at the foundation of your life. Life has tricky and tumultuous storms, but do you know that it’s those stinking, petty storms that will really do you in?!?! No storm exists that has the potential to overtake your life when you make the choice to center your life in the amazing love God holds you in. So, give release another chance, okay? Forgive and let go of the rotten baggage, and let your spirit harbor in the calming seas of God’s love.
