Devotion

Luke 6:38(NLT) “…Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full - pressed down shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”

Fullness of Life
Materialism has distorted the deeper meaning of what Jesus is saying in today’s scripture. While money has its biblical principle and purpose in our everyday life – the matter of giving implies much more than just money, and giving reaps far more when considered from God’s perspective. We can give in tangible and intangible ways. Our physical gifts and talents are one way to give and help other people (support nonprofits, volunteer, make donations, share your expertise), and our spiritual presence ushers the love of Jesus into the loves of people (pray, listen, comfort, encourage, spend time). All of these ways of giving not only establish a sense of community and caring, but they also reciprocate to givers the things of God that bless us to have the fullness of life with our family, neighbors, friends, and strangers who become friends. Won’t God do it? Yes, He will!
