2 John 1:5b-6(NLT) This is not a new commandment, but one we have had from the beginning. Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

No Option Commandment

We hold the antidote that aids in the spiritual healing of each other. The antidote is love. God is Love. When we don’t obey His command to love one another, we aren’t preventing Him from getting love to who needs it. However, we do show ourselves as operating in the flesh instead of in His Spirit. How many times do we catch ourselves feeling our flesh rushing up and raising our pulse because it would rather be the conqueror of us than let love be the champion through us? We can’t allow ourselves to deny love from each other, no matter how challenging it can appear to feel. In the Spirit of Christ, it’s not difficult at all. The demand of our flesh must fold to the command of our God. We are His hands, His feet, His eyes, His heart, and His love in physical form in the earth. We are purposed to give to each other what He provides for our spirit man – that is, love. Let’s love people with wholehearted abundance. It’s a no option commandment. God meant what He said.
