Devotion
1 Corinthians 2:14(NLT) But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.
Don’t Risk Spiritual Impairment
It does us good to either schedule or take an impromptu retreat away from our daily living so we can unplug and allow ourselves time to calm down our inner being. We have busy lives, and no matter how well we manage to keep God first, we owe it to our spirit to steal away periodically. As the years have passed by, we are doing more and more things with less and less time to rest and regroup. We’re past the point of needing the 3–day weekend to be made official! Vacation time has turned into catch up the household chores time. The current 2-day weekend is just long enough for us to think about relaxing, but never actually get to do it. If we stay in this mode of activity week after week, we risk suffering spiritual impairment. Our spirit needs a break from constant activities, conversations, and thoughts. It even needs a break from traditional programs and services. Our spirit needs the free nature of God where it can attune to its natural rhythm and rest that helps us to balance our daily responsibilities. We need this, and we don’t have to travel far away to get it. Use your imagination, and come up with a plan to steal away to the nature of God. Allow your spirit to connect with His with no interruption. Our spiritual health is vital to our entire wellbeing.
