Default Thinking
(Ephesians 4:28/NIV) Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, they may have something to share with those in need.
“If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em,” is a saying that has been around for a long time. However, based on the circumstances - it is a saying with implications that must be carefully considered. Since we are Christians who are working to spread the Gospel of Jesus in this sin-sick world, we cannot comply to ‘joining in’ with the world. Our mission is to serve, love, and lead others to a more eternal way of living. Our accountability to God holds true in all that we do, what we say, and how we choose to live. Whether at home or at our job – we are responsible for doing the right thing – not just because God is watching, but because we cannot comply to default thinking that says it’s alright to do what is wrong because other people do it. Are you a default thinker? Reset your thoughts and deeds on things that are excellent or praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8), and let the way you live your life for God convict others to do the same.
