Signs of Summer
(Luke 21:29b-31/NIV) “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.”

Summertime weather is here, and it arrived before its expected calendar date. This let’s us know that regardless of what or how man plans things based on the knowledge he uses, it is the Lord Who orders all matters under the Heavens according to His will (paraphrase Proverbs 19:9). Just as summer has presented itself earlier than expected, such is the same for the Kingdom of God being nearer at hand. We need to be mindful of these things and pay attention to the signs of nature that are all around us. Without question, all of God’s nature is speaking scriptural language to us every day. The signs of summer – like the signs of the other seasons – summon us to stay on the Kingdom course of evangelizing, discipling, fellowshipping, and fulfilling missions to draw more souls to the body of Jesus as we await and expect His return. Get ready, and stay ready.
