Rock Your Authenticity!
(Colossians 2:8-9 NLT) Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. For in Christ lives all the fullness of God in a human body.
Society places an overwhelming amount of pressure on every avenue of our lives in order to get us to conform to a certain standard of living. It is an unfair intimidation that can literally shut down – if not shut out – the vital embodiment of productive living we are naturally born to do. Young people sometimes get a bit agitated when someone older says to them, “Live long enough.” There is so much wisdom in those three words. In due season, we all come to realize that what appears to be the newest or latest thing happening is merely decorative enhancement pushed by a really good advertising crew! But praise be to God! The world really can’t conform the divine origin that’s packaged within us as long as we stay connected to the Source of our life! Don’t get it twisted. All the pressure to conform is just a shield to prevent you from shaking up things and really shining what is new and better in this dark world. Don’t listen to the hype! Listen to the Holy Spirit within you, and rock your authenticity! Don’t worry about how the world responds to you. You know Who’s got your back – and your life – in His hands!
Father, thank you for making me such an authentic image of you. Help me to stand tall and walk firmly in the truth of who I am so that I may help others who desire to do the same. Amen.
