Step Forward or Backward
(Proverbs 16:9) We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.

“There is no path if you don’t take a step. Otherwise, you are standing still.”                       Debbie Allen Nixon 1950 - present (American actress, dancer, choreographer, singer-songwriter, director, producer)

When you stay undecided, you’re in limbo. You’re just standing still. But when you have a plan and seek God’s counsel on what you propose to do, you will either step forward, or step backward. Either direction is a positive step when God is involved. The direction in which you move depends how God decides He wants you to go. Stepping forward seems like a sign that God approves for you to make a path, right? Well, stepping backward can mean the same thing, except God may decide to step ahead of you to open up or prepare the path He intends for you to step in. The Lord declares to us in Isaiah 55:8, ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways’. Isn’t it great knowing that God will help us accomplish whatever He approves of in whatever way He wants to? Don’t stay undecided. Whether forward or backward - lift your foot up, and take a step.
