So, You Messed Up…Now What?
(1 Corinthians 15:9-10) I am…not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But…His grace toward me did not prove vain.
It shouldn’t surprise you to learn that so many people have a difficult time forgiving other people of their wrongdoings because – they don’t know how to forgive themselves. Be honest. I bet you can think of a time in the past when you messed up, and it still bothers you now. What can you do to change what happened? Nothing. After all this time, has it stopped you from moving on with your life? In a way - it has. You’ve moved on in the physical sense, but you still carry an unforgiving emotion inside yourself like it’s a self-inflicted punishment. Don’t you know God loves you better than that? So, you messed up…now what? Repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and forgive yourself. Freedom from bondage restores you to your better self, and a better you will find it less difficult to forgive others.
