Apart from God
(Ezekiel 18:32) For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent and live!

Every time we sin, we are apart from God – every time – and it is nobody’s fault but our own. No, we can’t say that someone else caused us to sin, and we can’t say God knows our heart after the fact that we’ve sinned. Well – we can, and we do say these things – but we’re wrong on both counts. God is a choice, and sin is a choice. There is no sin in God. He doesn’t create it or support it. But God does protect us from sin when the effort to live by His commandments takes priority over what tests our flesh. Every thought, action, and intention from the heart that is not aligned to the will of God sets us apart from God. Whether we do it in private, public, solo, or with companionship - sin is sin. But thank God, we can repent and seek His forgiveness when we do sin. We need to keep this at the forefront of our minds. There is no sin that is worth being separated from God.
