Hope in the Darkness
(Psalm 30:5b) …weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Grief, sorrow, and burdens seem so much heavier in the night. Darkness makes it difficult to believe there is any sign of hope. Imagine how it must have felt to the followers of Jesus when his dead body was laid in a dark tomb and sealed away by a large stone. He was their only hope. But they would find out that hope cannot be buried! The cloak of darkness cannot stop hope from rising. Right now you may be dealing with troubles. You may be mourning. But hold on ‘til the morning, my brothers and sisters! May the tears you cry in the darkness provide you with a spiritual release so you can see the light of hope that is in store – ‘the next day’.
