Devotion

“I am what time, circumstances, history, have made me, certainly, but I am also, much more than that. So are we all.”
James Baldwin (African American novelist, playwright, essayist, poet, and activist) 1924-1987

Heirs of God, Co-Heirs With Christ
(Romans 8:17) Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

We need not worry or be discouraged by how the secular world views us. It unfairly justifies its perspective of us because of what it fails to understand about our presence in the world. It just goes to show that much has not changed, has it? The world didn’t recognize the royalty of Jesus when He was in the earth. Why should we expect the world to recognize the regality we have as heirs of God? Regardless of what time, circumstances, and history say we are, we know that we are first, foremost, and forever who God says we are. We are so much more than the world says we are, for we are co-heirs with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the Kingdom of God! Quite frankly, that is so much more than this wayward world is willing to accept…so much more.
