Church!
(Psalms145:1;6) I will exalt you, my God and King, and praise your name forever and ever. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be on every tongue; I will proclaim your greatness.

Of every old and new excuse Pearly Mae could think of to avoid attending church with her Aunt Beulah - she didn’t have one that would work on this occasion. Beulah died last week. Today, Pearly sits in front of her aunt's casket in a small country church. It is a couple of hours before the service will start. At the moment, Pearly is saddened that her aunt passed on, but she is grateful Aunt Beulah was a woman of faith, and that she is now resting in the Lord. Pearly does not regret ever attending the plain church with its creaky floorboards and hard wooden pews. Everything she sees is the exact opposite of Aunt Beulah's description of her church. There is no way a place like this could be the 'jump-off' - full of beauty, love, praise, and glorious light!
Two hours later…Pearly Mae has had a change of heart. She feels deep regret for never once accepting her Aunt Beulah's invitation to come to worship. For it is when the rest of her aunt's community and church family assembles to celebrate the life of this vibrant Christian woman - only then - does Pearly Mae see the fullness and beauty of the church her dear aunt had described.
Tell me...what type of church are you a part of? Is it lifeless and cold like brick and mortar, or is it Holy Ghost filled, sanctified, and on fire for Christ? Listen to me and listen well: "You are the church you desire to experience."
