Ordinary Start
(1 Samuel 15:17) Samuel said, "Although you were once small in your own eyes, did you not become the head of the tribes of Israel? The Lord anointed you king over Israel.

God put a little something 'extra' in all of his creation that makes it 'extraordinary'. This is especially true for His children. It is during seasons when you and I seem to go unnoticed that the detail work of our ‘extra’ is being developed. It happens this way because we need to be rooted in a firm and stable foundation so we can humbly manage the greatness that will come from within us. If we get it too fast, it may not last. It’s in our ordinary start that we are trained and developed through the pressures and challenges of life. Sometimes hardship is the nourishment we need to cause us to ignite the enduring strength we possess. Some of us are already living out the extraordinary we bring into the world, but we haven't recognized it yet because we expect it to have a certain look and fanfare that accompanies worldly greatness. But the greatness of our extraordinary selves is often found in simplistic and humble means. Let's embrace the greatness of our ordinary start, and know that - in Jesus - our so-called ordinary will eventually come forth as extraordinary...indeed!
