Respect Rest

(Matthew 11:28-30) "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

Could you spend an entire day resting your mind, body, and soul? For some people, their answer is an easy 'yes'.  But there are so many more of us who find it difficult to be still and rest. I've concluded that if I don't make resting an intentional part of my everyday life - even the best of my service to God and His people will not be as effective as it should be. We all need to realize that nothing else we can busy ourselves with is as important as what God calls us to do. Rest in the Lord is a restorative form of peaceful worship. God calls us to 'rest'. And when He does - that does not mean that we are to be scheduling meetings, answering emails, or catching up on phone calls. God says 'rest'.  There is an assignment in rest that is solely meant to benefit you and m - God's servants. Rest.
