Staying Connected
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. --- Colossians 1:17
Jesus tells us that 'if we remain connected in Him, we will bear much fruit' (John 15:5). By this He means that we will have a life of blessings and favor. We receive much of that through the people Jesus places in our lives. Through our family, friends, and acquaintances we experience a collective assortment of spiritual treasures that are born of our connection with each other. It is in Jesus that our connections are established and held together. However, we each have a part to do in order to keep our connectedness alive and strong. We have to be for each other that which we desire for ourselves. We must be loyal friends who are willing to reach out, invest time, and be flexible in our relationships. We must be honest and demonstrate care to each other. And sometimes we will have to disconnect from each other in order for new connections to form, because a connection that goes bad is just like not having a connection at all. While we may face seasons of interrupted ties in our relationship to one or another, we can know that there is always a greater purpose on our horizon as long as we stay connected to the One Who holds all things together.
