The Middle Of His Story
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. --- 2 Corinthians 4:17-18

What makes a sandwich a sandwich? Is it because of the top and bottom layers of bread? Not quite. It is also what goes between the bread that makes the beginning, middle, and end of this assorted food a sandwich. So it is with a story, particularly this story - The Holy Bible - that we are included in. There is a beginning, a middle, and an end. But unlike a sandwich, we don't get to create this story and fill the middle with how we want the story to turn out. We already know that it has a victorious ending, and yet - we are so focused on signs that we are near the end until - we are misunderstanding what the middle is about. We've got to stay in the middle for a while if we ever expect to get to the light at the end of the last chapter. We're not stuck, so there's no reason to be in such a hurry. The middle holds things we don't understand and we may not like, but without it - we cannot become equipped for what's still ahead. Do you believe in the Author and the Finisher of the Holy Bible? Then keep your focus on Him, and embrace the process of the middle. It is an honor that  He so desired us to have a part to fulfill in this transformational story. There's no telling what else is in store for us. Whatever it may be, we can know for certain that He is right here with us in the middle of His story.
