Significance
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. --- Mark 8:35

The world acknowledges that we have done well when we live a life of success. We gain prestige, possessions, privileges, awards to line our bookshelves, and everybody knows our names. But is there anything more to live for? Why don’t some of us feel like we have a life? Perhaps our success has provided some valuable experiences and great resources, but not a complete and fulfilling purpose to live for. We need to live a life of service - to give ourselves away for the sake of things greater than that which draws attention to us. Our service to others fulfills the higher purpose God has in mind for us, and that creates a satisfaction within us that we don't experience with a success status alone. Serving others makes us appreciate and understand what we have to live for. A life of service makes a life of significance - far greater than worldly success. Why? Because a life of significance is given away for others, thereby adding value to lives - including our own. Are you living a life of success or significance? In either case, roll up your sleeves! The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few (Matthew 9:370!
