When You Don’t Feel Like…
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. -- Romans 12:9-10

Don't let your feelings yank you around. At one moment, they may have you singing, "La, La, La." But in a split second your feelings can jerk you into a dark place, making you sullen and sad. What happens to the people in your life when your interactions with them are determined by the way you feel? You confuse, disappoint, and even hurt them because your behavior does not show genuine concern for them. Essentially, you do not receive them in sincere love. In order to turn this behavior around, you need to establish discipline over your feelings. Start by looking at what it is that causes you to demonstrate such behavior. Is it a lack of self-love? If so, you need to go to Love (God) and spend regular time with Him. He will provide the love you need to help you learn to love yourself or heal what may be hurting you. When you don't feel like expressing the best of God's love to others, it may be a sign that you're lacking something within yourself. Instead of making excuses about it, do something about it. When you can extend sincere love to others, there is an exchange of love waiting for you in return. Keep your feelings in check by checking in with God.
