National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Your hands have made me and formed me; give me understanding to learn your commands. May those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for I have put my hope in your word. --- Psalms 119:73-74
The month of October is designated to raising the awareness of breast cancer. The American Cancer Society sponsors fund raisers for acquiring resources to assist patients with receiving their treatments, and to support ongoing research to ultimately find a cure. This organization works year-round encouraging women and men to have their annual breast exams, connecting people with people to provide emotional and inspirational support for persons who are fighting the disease or are in remission, and honors the memory of patients who fought the good fight with great courage. Breast cancer is a disease that initially drew attention only to women's breast health. But this unbiased cancer also affects the breast health of men. The COVID-19 pandemic has altered some of the events held by the American Cancer Society. However, all of us can support the cause by donating financial resources and giving time and presence to anyone we know who has the disease. God is in control of all things, and we must do our part to keep hope in the hearts and minds of anyone who is in the battle. Wear a pink or blue ribbon this month in support of our courageous sisters and brothers whose lives are being challenged by breast cancer. Whatever affects the life of one of us...affects the lives of all of us. #INTHISTOGETHER
