Cracked Cisterns
"My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water." --- Jeremiah 2:13

Do you have flaky faith? You know that kind of faith that blows away with the wind as soon as you sense that things aren't going to turn out the way you want them to? Did you know that your faith is flaky when what you hope for is possible, but you are not willing to do your part to make it so? Yep. But the flakiest faith of all is when you orchestrate a back-up plan for something you've asked God to handle to ensure it happens in the case that God does not come through for you. Crack! Crackle! Crack! Do you see those highway-wide cracks you have formed in your faith life? Selfishness, fickleness, and lack of trust in God led to this. Why would you turn away from your Divine Eternal Source of life only to dig for yourself shallow graves in which to lay your dry bones? You can do better that this, and God expects you to! Grab hold of your Savior's hand and attach yourself to His Vine! Establish your branch of faith in Him, receive God's pruning so that your faith may continue to flourish and grow! Guess what is going to happen? Unlike cracked cisterns, your faith life will heal, and your soul will be filled with the nourishing waters of God's divine will for your life!
