Accountability
In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. And everyone went to their own town to register. --- Luke 2: 1;3

Did you complete a census form and mail it in? So many aspects of our lives are affected by this process. Negligence in taking the census seriously is as devastating for us as it is to not register and cast our votes during the elections. By the way...have you registered to vote in person or by absentee ballot? Will you show up and be accounted for? Not taking responsibility and following through clearly sends a message that we don't care about ourselves and each other. Our accountability is the hinge that swings the door open for us to make advancements in life. Such things as governmental policies and laws that impact our children's education, transportation, housing, the environment, our health systems, products and services that we purchase, funding for future developments, the division of representatives among the states, and more are all decided upon based on our obligation and responsibility to completing a very simple census form for our household. Are you accounted for? When Joseph traveled with Mary on foot from Nazareth to Bethlehem so they could register for the Roman census, Jesus was in her womb. Jesus' earthly parents were accountable. Think about how far our Savior Jesus Christ went for the sake of His accountability to us. How far are we willing to go to do the right thing for our own sake?
