Personal Health Inspection
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. --- 1 Corinthians 9:27
I'm stepping on toes today because I care about you. Your well-being impacts the Kingdom, and as long as we make up the Kingdom together - then we're accountable to each other. Now, I don't have any control over what you ultimately decide to do. But at least I'm going to show you that I love you by giving you a health inspection. Just answer the following questions honestly if they apply to you: 1. What are you doing in the form of physical activity to keep your body and your body systems strong and balanced? 2. Are you drinking enough water each day and eating nutritious and reasonably portioned meals? 3. Taking any vitamins? 4. Are you keeping on track with your doctor and prescribed medications? 5. Are you getting adequate sleep? 6. Are you reading any books and engaging in positive conversations to keep your brain sharp? Now, that wasn't so bad, was it? All I did was ask a few simple questions, but in my virtual sanctified imagination I hear some of you groaning, and I see others of you looking away as though you heard someone call you from another room in your house! Listen to me - you can be the most spiritually sound individual you want to be- God bless you! But if you won't do what is necessary to take care of the temple God gave you to house your soul - what does that really say about your spiritual soundness? I told you up front that I was stepping on toes today, so don't expect me to rub the soreness away. However, I do have one last question for you… "IF - you are not properly taking care of your health, --- what are you willing to do to keep your spiritual soundness from being disqualified?" Start by caring enough to take care of yourself.
