Devotion
Self-Betrayal
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselve...But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it - not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it - they will be blessed in what they do. ---James 1:22;25
Choose to be intentional in listening to the Holy Spirit when He speaks to you - however boldly, or softly He does. Your decision to be obedient to Jesus requires His help, and your correct response to His spiritual nudges can make the difference between keeping in agreement with what is best for your life or endangering yourself with disobedience. It can happen quite easily. You do know that the adversary will try to make you stumble and fall even if you are sitting in a chair with your feet placed firmly on the floor, right? Stay alert about the thoughts you entertain and even the smallest activities you do. Let the intentions of your heart and mind be true and thoughtful. Do not be so swift to notice another person's faults and not realize your own faults that you need to improve on. Self-betrayal will unconsciously reveal things about you that you otherwise would not disclose. So, stay close to the Holy Spirit within so you will not have to be at risk of deceiving yourself.
