Appreciating Detours
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. --- Isaiah 41:13

When people have obstacles in their way, we normally encourage them to keep pressing forward until they get a breakthrough. We mean well by this, but there is more we can say to them that will help make their efforts more purposeful and encouraging. We can say...
Stay in pursuit of your goals and be mindful of detours along the way. Detours are there to make you aware that there are other ways you can go to get to where you are headed. Detours can help you to avoid dilemmas. They redirect you to other paths that behold divine encounters and incredible wonders that that are specifically meant for you to notice. Detours are not dead ends or reasons for you to quit. They are markers that navigate you in the direction the Lord desires you to take so that you will stay on course under His leadership and not get lost in the uncertainties of what you think you know. Based on your point of view about detours, they can either be a hindrance or a blessing. But if you will trust the Lord to help you, you will gain an appreciation for the detours that redirect you safely to your desired destination!
