Disabled Believer
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted,  but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. --- 2 Corinthians 4:7-9

What makes a believer disabled? Perhaps we are disabled believers when we - being people of faith - embrace and encourage other people with the Word of God, but we do not walk in and stand on the Word when dealing with our own circumstances. We have a damaging effect on non-believers and persons who are babies in their walk with Jesus Christ. Our faith walk and talk are the catalysts that verify and validate our trust in God and our dependence on Him to work in our lives. The depth of our faith gets tested both inconveniently and unexpectedly throughout our lifetime. If we aren't anchored in the Mighty Rock of Jesus, then we are lukewarm and of poor help for Kingdom building. Our disablement is an impairment to the church body and can cause newborns in Christ to doubt God, and non-believers to turn away from ever seeking God. How do we remedy this condition? We stop weak talking and weak walking. We change our attitude and our thoughts, and we be faithful to God. He is the One Who gives us the 'ability' to do all things through Him (Philippians 4:13), and to Him we owe everything for the strong and able believers He helps us to become. Amen.
