When Winning Is Not Winning
For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.   --- 1John 5:4-5

We need to be careful in our quest of winning souls to the Kingdom of God. How we go about this divine mission must be in the manner that God instructs us to. The twelve components of the fruit of the spirit along with guidance from the Holy Spirit are the necessary tools we need to be able to bring in the sheaves for God's Glory. Three reasons why the 'the harvest is great, but the workers are few'  (Matthew 9:37)  are because there are (1) some of us who think that if we get ourselves ready for the Lord, then that is all we are responsible for doing, and there are (2) those of us who assign ourselves to the harvest without first praying to the One Who has charge over the harvest to see if, where,  and when He would have us to go work, and (3)  there are others of us who approach the harvest with a worldly sales that pitch breathes no life and no Light into confused and helpless souls. These are just three examples of how winning is done in the name of the kingdom, but it is not winning for the Kingdom. To win souls for Jesus Christ is our life's vital assignment that is never to be taken lightly. Look at it this way - everyone in the body of Christ has a purpose that God did not create anyone else to fulfill. When He calls for His kingdom,  we do not want to have it against us that we forfeited the souls of fellow brothers and sisters because of selfishness and disobedience. If we were still lost to the knowledge and acceptance Christ, we would not want to be turned off or turned away from hearing the Good News, would we? Of course not!  Therefore,  it serves us well to keep in the forefront of our hearts and minds the Kingdom magnitude of our winning souls for Christ so that we can come rejoicing when we bring in the sheaves!
