A Second Blessing
For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. -- Psalm 103:11-12

You know how we say that 'God will take your bad and turn it into good'? Well, you would be surprised how in that statement we hold up our receiving a second blessing. I did not say we hold God up from providing the blessing, but we hold ourselves up from receiving the second blessing that comes along with the blessing of His forgiveness. Go ahead and ask me how...you know I am waiting for the question! Well, as it turns out, we are guilty of not fully forgiving ourselves for things that God has long forgiven us for. When we think back on certain events in our lives where we fell short of the glory of God - we still view ourselves in the fullness of the sin - and we should not do that. Once we have learned the error of our ways and we have repented with a sincere heart, we can go on and forgive ourselves simultaneously with the Lord. Where does the second blessing come in? The second blessing comes when we can look back on those memories and see ourselves standing on what are now our testimonies. We can share them and offer hope to people who need help in accepting the Lord's forgiveness. Our testimonies are a second blessing that can free others from their God forgiven and God forgotten guilt. Forgiving ourselves can sometimes be just as difficult as forgiving others, but it is crucially important for the health of our Kingdom service and Kingdom living. Amen
